BIOGRAPHY
Burke Rutherford, born in Utah, in December 10, Thursday transplanted to California, matured in Me´xico. Rutherford has been a student of the fine arts since early childhood. First in California public schools, then on to Europe. where he studied at Ecole de Beaux Arts, Nice, France and Centre Universitaire al Mediterranean. In England it was Soulthampton College of Fine Arts followed by a stint in Spain where his sculpting technique began to blossom.
Returning to the U.S., he began as all unknown artists must, with sidewalk shows, country fairs and other locations where he could enter his work.
Today, after years of paying his dues. Rutherford is rapidly, becoming recognized as one of the leading contemporany sculptors in the world with a former comission to the American Olympic Committe for the 1984 Olympic Eagle, The "Aid to Zoo" commission in Phoenix, a prancing zebra for the international Horse Show, monumental pieces for a public park in the San Francisco Bay area, etc.
His works, paintings and sculpture, are displayed in both public and private collections throughout Nort America and Europe.

Burke Rutherford passed away peace fully on the Caracol Peninsula, San Carlos, Sonora, Mexico in a house with the most beautiful view February 13, 2015.
